Step by Step

How To Measure Yourself.

Follow these simple steps to get accurate measurements. For best results, use a soft measuring tape and wear fitted clothing.

01

Chest / Bust

Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it level across your back. Don't pull too tight — the tape should sit comfortably.

02

Waist

Measure around your natural waistline (the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the belly button). Keep the tape snug but not tight.

03

Hips

Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat. Keep the tape parallel to the floor.

04

Inseam

Measure from the top of your inner thigh down to your ankle bone. For pants, this determines the length. Stand straight and keep the tape taut.

Expert Advice

Measurement Tips & Tricks.

Getting accurate measurements is the key to finding your perfect fit. Follow these pro tips from our master tailors.

  • Wear Fitted Clothing

Measure over thin, fitted clothing — not bulky sweaters or jackets.

  • Use a Soft Tape

Always use a flexible, soft measuring tape — not a metal construction tape.

  • Stand Naturally

Stand up straight with arms relaxed at your sides. Don't suck in or puff out.

  • Measure Twice

Take each measurement twice to ensure accuracy. If they differ, take a third.

  • Ask for Help

For best results, have someone else take your measurements — especially for back measurements.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked.

Quick answers to the sizing questions we hear most often.

I'm between sizes — which should I choose?

If you're between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up for a more comfortable, relaxed fit — especially for tailored pieces like suits and blazers. However, if you prefer a slimmer silhouette, size down. For custom orders, our team will take precise measurements during your consultation to ensure a perfect fit.

Do your sizes run true to size?

Yes, our ready-to-wear collection runs true to standard South African sizing. However, fit can vary slightly between different garment types (e.g., slim fit vs. relaxed fit). Always check the specific product measurements and fit description before ordering.

What if the item doesn't fit when it arrives?

No worries! We offer free alterations within 30 days of delivery for all ready-to-wear items. Simply contact us via WhatsApp or email, and we'll arrange a fitting at our Boksburg studio or provide instructions for local alterations. Custom orders include 2–3 fittings to ensure perfection before final delivery.

Can I get custom measurements for a bespoke piece?

Absolutely! All custom and bespoke orders include professional measurements taken by our master tailors during your consultation. We'll measure every relevant dimension to ensure your piece fits like it was born on you. Book a free consultation via WhatsApp or email to get started.

How do I measure myself for pants/trousers?

For pants, you'll need three key measurements: Waist (around your natural waistline), Hips (around the fullest part), and Inseam (from the top of your inner thigh to your ankle bone). Stand straight, wear fitted clothing, and use a soft measuring tape. If unsure, refer to a pair of pants that fit you well and measure those.

What's the difference between slim, regular, and relaxed fit?

Slim fit is tailored close to the body for a modern, streamlined look. Regular fit is our classic, comfortable cut with room to move — our most popular option. Relaxed fit provides extra room through the body for maximum comfort. Check our Fit Guide section above for detailed comparisons.

Do you offer plus sizes or extended sizing?

Yes! Our ready-to-wear collection goes up to XXL, and our custom tailoring service can accommodate any size. We believe great style is for every body. If you don't see your size in our standard chart, contact us for a custom quote — we'll make it fit perfectly.

How do I measure for a suit or blazer?

For suits and blazers, you'll need: Chest (around the fullest part), Waist (at your natural waistline), Shoulder width (from shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the back), Sleeve length (from shoulder to wrist), and Jacket length (from base of neck to desired hem). For best results, book a custom consultation — our tailors will take all measurements professionally.

Can I exchange for a different size?

Yes! Ready-to-wear items can be exchanged for a different size within 30 days of delivery, provided the item is unworn, unwashed, and has all original tags attached. We cover exchange shipping costs within South Africa. Custom orders cannot be exchanged but include free alterations within 30 days.

I'm shopping internationally — how do I convert sizes?

Check our International Size Conversion Chart above for approximate conversions between South African, UK, US, EU, and Australian sizes. However, we always recommend ordering based on your actual measurements (in cm) rather than size labels, as sizing can vary between countries and brands. If unsure, contact us for guidance.
